Leisa is an AHPRA-registered osteopath and a counsellor who has a particular interest in working with how physical and emotional experiences of injury and loss are processed through the body, and how, if left unprocessed, these may present as both physical and mental distress.
Leisa attained her Osteopathy degree with distinctions from RMIT University in 2015. At RMIT, she taught anatomy and physiology wet laboratories and assisted in teaching palpation skills to first-year osteopathic students. During her fifth and final year, Leisa undertook a placement at an orthopedic hospital in Mumbai, India, specializing in shoulder, knee, and ankle surgeries.
After years of working in urban and rural multidisciplinary clinics, Leisa joined the Pain Management Team for aged-care members. Before opening the Embodied Health clinic.
Leisa’s passion for body-mind integration led her to study a Graduate Diploma of Psychology at the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Counselling. She is currently halfway through her double Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Leisa has also undertaken courses in Biodynamic Osteopathy and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
